Celebrating Collaboration at the 2026 Canadian Conference!
What an incredible two days of learning, connection, and collaboration in Radium Hot Springs, BC!
On October 14–15, 2026, the Whitebark Pine Ecosystem Foundation of Canada (WPEFC) welcomed over 70 attendees representing more than 35 organizations from across Canada and beyond for our 2026 Whitebark Pine Conference, Collaboration for Recovery: Active Management in a Changing Climate.
From Indigenous Nations and communities to government agencies, universities, research institutions, nurseries, forestry professionals, industry partners, and conservation organizations, the conference brought together a remarkable diversity of people dedicated to advancing whitebark and limber pine recovery. We were especially excited to see strong representation from Parks Canada, with participants joining us from national parks across western Canada!
The conference featured engaging presentations, lively Recovery Roundtable discussions, and opportunities to connect with colleagues working on shared conservation challenges. Our field day brought participants outdoors to explore restoration and management approaches firsthand, exchange practical knowledge, and continue conversations in the landscapes where this important work takes place.
Different perspectives, shared challenges, and a common commitment to recovery through collaboration and active management in a changing climate!
We were also thrilled to raise over $1,500 through our silent auction, with proceeds supporting the Student Grant Program and the next generation of conservation professionals and researchers!
A huge thank you to our speakers, discussion leaders, volunteers, sponsors, partners, and everyone who travelled to Radium Hot Springs to make this year’s conference such a success. Your enthusiasm, expertise, and willingness to share ideas are what make this community so special.
We look forward to building on the connections and conversations from this year’s conference as we continue working together to support the recovery of endangered whitebark and limber pine ecosystems.
