Our Work

Restoration in Action

The Whitebark Pine Ecosystem Foundation of Canada plays a leading role in coordinating projects that promote the conservation and stewardship of whitebark and limber pine ecosystems. Whether we’re climbing trees to collect cones, planting disease-resistant seedlings, educating communities, or screening tree families for resistance, our work supports the future of high-elevation forests.

At the core of our work is a belief in the power of collective action and shared conviction. We partner with government agencies, academic institutions, consultants, industry leaders, and fellow non-profit organizations to advance recovery efforts across Canada. Together, we guide and implement restoration initiatives, engage public and private partners, support applied research, and deliver educational programs that strengthen knowledge, expertise, and long-term management of these ecosystems throughout their Canadian range.

Through conferences, hands-on workshops, and on-the-ground restoration projects, we advance knowledge, raise awareness, and protect Canadian five-needled pines across British Columbia and Alberta.
